" I would consider this the 'bare bones' 1200 series.. it's an interesting pastiche of parts and ideas from prior successful Technics Direct Drive turntables.
Still rocks the S shaped tone arm as later incarnations of this go to a less complext mechanism and straight arm into the mid 80s. There is no fine adjustment of the speed but sports Quartz lock . 33 and 45, no 78. A real sleeper turntable looks unassuming but it's high art / high economy value from Technics and does the job excellent".
"Very solid turntable. Can't go wrong with this one, it will last many decades and it sounds fantastic."
"Another top notch TT from an era when Technics was king of DD turntable's. Removable headshell. Lacks tonearm height adjustment, otherwise a solid 10 score. I own a Technics 1800 mk2, and SP-25 as well, and this Technics is now my daily driver. Works, and sounds fantastic."
