"I put an ATVM95E cartridge on it. I wasn't expecting much, but this set-up is much more entertaining than my Orbit Uturn with a Grado Black cartridge. More lively, and tuneful. The drive on the Sansui has great torque, and this translates to punchy sound. However, when set up correctly, this turntable has a great sound, and makes a very appealing semi-automatic entry-level table."
"I've had this TT for several years, love it, great sound very reliable. Have replaced belt and tweaked a few years back, service manual was easy to understand. After all these years, a little lube, adjustments and new belt and it just keeps on producing sweet sounds."

The SR-232 offers more value than other turntables in it's price range.
In fact, it's about the only automatic return turntable in it's price range, giving you a distinct advantage in hi-fi economy without compromising real high fidelity quality.
Sansui's reputation for fine hi-fi equipment is well reflected in this simple to use, high performance model.
We've solved the wow/flutter problem with a high-torque, 4-pole synchronous motor.
Record tracking is more reliable with a sensitive s-shaped tonearm.
Acoustic feedback has been reduced with a new Sansui howl-suppressing, insulator/suspension design.
We've also included a dependable auto-return/power shut-off device for the tonearm.
